Tucker Landscaping and Lawn-care tips

Spring is here and now is the time to start thinking about the growth of your garden and landscaping. Dick Tucker owner of Tucker & Associates provided the following tips for this time of year:

  • If you have Azaleas, you need to fertilize them AFTER they bloom.
  • Now is the time to apply pre-emergent herbicides to your flower beds. Pre-emergents should always be applied before you start seeing weeds emerging.
  • Other spring time maintenance things to consider: clear all drainage ditches of debris and leaves, top dressing (applying nutrients from the top) existing beds to maintain the soil ecosystem and rake the lawn of any dead growth and winter debris so air and light and reach your grass.
  • You might also want to prune your trees of any dead or damaged branches.
